The administration and faculty of Lunenburg Middle School believes that the primary purpose of our school is to provide a curriculum and learning environment that recognizes the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional characteristics of early adolescence. 

We realize that our student body is experiencing a period of transition and strive to broaden the scope of the curriculum to reflect the abilities, interests, and educational needs of each student.  We strive to work together with students, parents, and the community to make Lunenburg Middle School “A GREAT PLACE TO LEARN.”

**Congratulations to the LMS Volleyball Team who are currently #1 Seed in the East!

 

LMS ACE Team NEWS:  The LMS ACE Team lit up the buzzers Monday, October 16, winning all four rounds.  They scored 1,012 points, which was more points than they scored in five rounds the first night.  LMS currently sits atop the leader board in points, holding a slim 23 point lead over Bluestone.  The final round of competition is on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

 

**LMS Lady Blue Devils Volleyball Team won in 3 straight sets against Bluestone Middle on Tuesday, October 3.  Congratulations!

...defeated Wyatt Middle School in Emporia yesterday afternoon in three straight sets:  25-16, 25-21, and 25-15. Great team defense and outstanding serves from C. Williams, A. Morris, and A. Inzeo lead the offense. Next game is Tuesday, October 3 at Bluestone Middle School.

...won it's home game against Park View in 4 sets on Tuesday, September 26.  Congratulations!!

Congratulations to the LMS ACE Team

...on winning 4 out of 5 matches in the first round of completion! They sit atop the leader board in total points with 991. Top scores for the night were E. Currin (435 points), B. Currin (90 points), and Z. Newcomb and K. Foster (30 points). Next round is October 16, 2017.

The LMS Volleyball Team

...defeated Parkview yesterday afternoon in 5 sets, 14-25, 25-19, 25-17, 11-25, and 15-8.  Good team defense and great serves from M. Blowers, C. Williams, K. Moody, and A. Morris sealed the victory. The volleyball has 3 wins and 1 loss.

...defeated Prince Edward yesterday afternoon in three straight sets, 25-13, 25-18, and 25-12.  Another great defensive effort and strong serves from C. Williams, A. Hoover, A. Inzeo, and K. Moody sealed the victory.  The team now has 2 wins and 1 loss.  Next game is Tuesday, September 12 at Parkview.

The LMS Volleyball Team

...defeated Nottoway yesterday in 3 straight sets, 25-18, 25-14, and 25-18. Great team defense and great serves from A. Inzeo, K. Moody, and C. Williams provided enough firepower for the victory. Next game is Thursday at  4;30 p.m. at home against Park View. Come out and support your Lady Blue Devils!

School Supplies 2017-2018

Free physicals

...will be offered for LMS athletes on July 19, 2017 at the Central Field House from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.  

Sixth Grade Orientation will be held on August, 3 2017 in the gym of Lunenburg Middle School.

Proof of T-Dap immunization should be submitted to the school prior to students  being enrolled.  Copies may be faxed to (434) 696-2162.

LMS no longer has a football program;

...therefore, eighth graders are encouraged to try out for JV Football at Central High School.  Mr. Wallace Owen will now be serving as the Athletic Director for both Lunenburg Middle School and Central High School. 

LMS Volleyball Tryouts

...will begin on Monday July, 31st at the LMS gym from 8:30-10:30 AM.  Girls must have a VHSL physical prior to being allowed to try-out.

Expository Essay Contest
7th Grade Students at Lunenburg Middle School

E. C. Thompson Alliance of Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows of Kenbridge, Blackstone & Vicinity sponsored an Essay Contest for 7th graders entitled, “What is it Like to be a 7th Grader?” Many excellent essays were entered. Winners of the contest were First Place, Kayla Foster; receiving a $100 prize; Second Place, Katelyn Sadler, $75 prize; and Third Place, Anastasia Howells, $50 prize. Congratulations to the winners and to all students who entered the contest.

LMS Fundraiser Stars Are Wisked Away in a Limo

Students at LMS had a fundraiser in order to collect money to go toward student incentives, initiatives, and the annual honor roll trip in the spring.  Students selling 15 items or more were eligible for a limousine ride to Pizza Hut in Blackstone, where they enjoyed a delicious lunch.  Images of these excited students!

The LMS 2016 ACE Team had their first meet on September 26th at Prince Edward Middle School. After four rounds of competition, the LMS team is first in points. Top scorers for the team were E. Currin with 390 points, S. Strigel with 215, and B. Currin with 105. Next meet is October 17th.
